Sam is a physical therapist with a deep connection to the game of soccer and the athletes who play it. She began playing at age 4 after being inspired by her older brother and continued for 30 years before retiring following her second ACL injury.
Over the years, Sam competed at the club and collegiate levels. One of her most meaningful memories came while studying abroad with Semester at Sea, where she joined a local match with students in Egypt. It was a moment that reminded her how sport can cross cultures and build lasting connections.
Having experienced two ACL tears herself, Sam understands the physical, mental, and emotional challenges that come with recovery. She brings empathy and insight to her work, creating an encouraging space where every athlete can regain strength and confidence.
In addition to her physical therapy work, Sam will be supporting Crestline FC as an athletic development coach, working with both academy and senior teams to enhance performance, movement quality, and injury prevention.
Now that she has stepped away from competitive soccer, you can often find Sam hiking or paddle-boarding around North Carolina, or snowboarding in the mountains of Colorado.
